Darlington's Big Community Switch

Jenny welcomes latest opportunity to join scheme.

Darlington Borough Council and Darlington Citizens Advice Bureau are once again giving  people the chance to save money on their gas and electricity bills by getting involved with Darlington's Big Community Switch.

The Big Community Switch is a collective energy switching scheme, powered by iChoosr, which brings households, community and voluntary groups, and businesses together to negotiate for a better deal on energy prices. The more people that join up, the greater the purchasing power to get cheaper bills.

This will be the third time the scheme has organised an auction with energy suppliers to get the best tariff, with Darlington householders involved being able to save an average of £130 last November and an average of £252 in February 2014 .

Registration is free with no obligation to switch. After the auction everyone in the scheme receives a personal offer telling them how much they could save. It is then up to you whether or not to accept the offer and switch energy suppliers. There is no charge, even if you decide not to take up to offer.

Registration for householders is open from 1 April 2014 to midnight 9 June 2014.

For further help, and personal one to one support to register, phone Phill at:
Darlington Citizens Advice Bureau on 01325 256999 (ext. 122)
