Jenny is a Dementia Friend and supports the Alzheimer's Society, so why don't you join in too, she asks?
In fact, you can even become a Dementia Friends Champion by attending a whole-day volunteer induction session in Darlington on Friday, February 5.
“Dementia Friends Champions are trained volunteers who encourage others to learn a little about dementia,” says the Alzheimer's Society. “They run sessions in their community and inspire people to help those with dementia live well.”
If you join in, you’ll see a Dementia Friends Information session delivered by an Alzheimer's Society Regional Support Officer and then learn how to deliver the session yourself with the chance to discuss the activities and key messages, before taking part in a practice presentation.
Friday's course is in Room D3.16, at Teesside University, Vicarage Road, Darlington
Tea and coffee will be provided, say organisers, but please bring your own lunch.
